Officer’s Exam!
This is part of my 1st plan for the scanlations group to find our leading officers.
Plus making this into an exam is fun. :]

Here are the details for the exam!

Eclipse is doing an Officer’s Exam!
I am putting the new management system in movement.
The Officer’s Exam.

When the site starts becoming more popular and we start getting more benefits so will the Captains and Lieutenants.
Hopefully sometime in the future we can create a pay roll for our hard workers at Eclipse.
Right now there aren’t many perks to becoming an officer except helping out and volunteering.
But as the site benefits from a constant chain of releases so will the perks of the job.

Eclipse Scanlations is going to need to fill 8 positions to make this new management system work.

What I’m gonna do is:

• Take applicants resumes.
• Dish out a test of skill.

These are the main points that are required.

• Activeness.
• Management.
• Skill.

My First Choices will be filling out 4 Captain positions.  (Head)

• Head-Translator
• Head-Proofreader
• Head-Editor
• Head-Quality Checker

Head-Scanner will have to wait.. I do have to find a Scanner at one point. But this is not in urgent need for I can still do this.

Captains responsibilities include:

• Access to the officer’s section.

Project Management within your own sections.

• Assigning a person for each project, chapter.
• Making sure deadlines are kept.
• Checking the translations/editing/proofreading/quality to see if they are acceptable.
• Releasing chapters.
• Recruitment Applications.
• And All that good stuff

But only for your own section! [Translation, Editing, Proofreading, Quality Checking]

Captains are directly responsible for their Lieutenant. Meaning if the Lieutenant is unresponsive or slacking, not doing what is asked, you may bring it up to the Commander for a reexamination for the position. Must be with good reasons though.

My Second Choices will be filling out the Lieutenant Position. (Vice-Head)

• Vice-Translator
• Vice-Proofreader
• Vice-Editor
• Vice-Quality Checker

Lieutenants responsibilities include:

• Lieutenants have access to the officers section and almost everything that Captains do.
• Lieutenants are a back up for the Captain and can also share the responsibilities with the Captain if agreed too.
• Lieutenants are to listen to the Captain if the Captain needs them to help them out.

Lieutenants are also there to monitor the Captain. Meaning if the Captain is unresponsive or slacking, asking for unreasonable requests, you may bring it up to the Commander for a reexamination for the position. Must be with good reasons though.

• When your application is received, you will receive a 4-Digit Exam Number.
• We will be accepting applications until May 31st.
• Your application will be looked over and on June 3rd the results will be posted on the Eclipse Website. (http://www.eclipse-scans.net/)

If your Exam Number is posted up on the acceptance board then you will be asked to email OE@eclipse-scans.net with your exam number. (A simple email titled **** [Your Exam #]) which tells us you accept. This is also part of the (activeness) part.
• On June 5th the exams will be emailed to all accepted participants.

The Due Dates all vary between sections.
Translating – June 9th
Proofreading – June 9th
Editing – June 19th
Quality Checking – June 13th

On June 30th the results will be in for the entire exam.

So the exam will be a 1 month application accepting period and 1 month exam period.
